About Me

Hello! My name is Erin and welcome to my blog. I wish I had a fancy story about my blog name but in reality I posted some clothes for rent on The Volte and it generated the name Erin @ Third and I thought it sounded cute. So here it is.

I'm a mum, a teacher, an ex-advertising professional and avid coffee drinker. Prior to being a grown up I had aspirations to travel the world (did that), work in fashion (I mean styling fashion parades in Paris and Milan)- but working in retail sales fed that love while studying at uni. I love to write, learn and eat.

Since 1999, I’ve been working with people. Over the years my career has taken me down the road of advertising, education and retail.

Call it customer service, retail, communication, marketing- at the end of the day it boils down to one thing- relationships. In 2020 when the world shut down mine opened up. I was sent on a leadership course which used neuroplasticity as base and effective communication as its goal. For me it was the missing link. By understanding how our individual brains are wired we are able to understand why we communicate, work and are triggered in different ways.

The insight and awareness generated led to more effective coaching and has meant that those under my mentor-ship are  able to progress in their chosen field and aspire to reach their goals.

My goal now is to continue my education on neuroplasticity, in particular how it can be applied in education and business. The purpose of this page is to make me accountable. To keep researching and sharing. Thanks for coming along for the ride- who knows where it'll go?
